Katherine E. Kolnhofer is an experienced Civil Litigator and Partner at Bell Temple LLP. She has represented her clients in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Ontario Divisional Court, and in appeals to the Court of Appeal for Ontario.
Katherine practices in the areas of insurance defence, including commercial/general liability claims (CGL), professional negligence/E&O, construction litigation and has a particular interest in complex liability issues involving technology, engineering, and product liability matters. She defends claims involving substantial losses and has experience with complex bodily injury and casualty claims, coverage opinions and multi-party litigation.
Katherine leads the firm’s Privacy, Cybersecurity and Technology Law Group and is Harvard educated in Cybersecurity Risk Management. She acts as breach counsel in the event of a cybersecurity incident and works with organizations on incident preparedness, managing operational, litigation and reputational risk. She is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), Canadian Bar association (CBA), and the Ontario Bar Association (OBA) Insurance and Privacy & Access to information Law Sections. In addition, Katherine is a regular speaker in the Cybersecurity space, and has authored and been quoted in various publications on topics such as breach readiness and privacy issues.
