Marcus joined Bell Temple as an associate after articling with the firm. His practice is focused on defending a variety of civil actions relating to product liability, professional negligence, breach of contract, personal injury, and property loss disputes. He also represents both employees and employers in a range of employment law matters, including wrongful dismissal claims and human rights allegations. Marcus regularly appears before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and Ontario’s Small Claims Court in relation to these matters.

In addition to his civil work, Marcus is involved in the firm’s accident benefits group. He is experienced in representing insurance companies in applications brought before the Licence Appeal Tribunal and is well-versed in priority and loss transfer arbitrations.

Marcus received his Juris Doctor from Dalhousie University’s Schulich School of Law where he graduated with a certificate in business law. While at law school, he was heavily involved in the student community, including serving as President of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society for all three years. Marcus also completed an internship at the Northumberland Community Legal Centre during his final summer of law school. In this role, he advocated on behalf of low income residents in tenancy disputes and non-unionized employees in workplace claims. He credits this experience for fuelling his desire to pursue a career in advocacy/litigation.
