Brian Lucas joined Bell Temple following his Call to the Bar in 1982. Brian became a Partner in the firm in 1987, acted as Managing Partner from 1998 to 2014 and now practices as Counsel with the firm. He has spent his career as a civil litigator representing insurers, corporations and individuals in all types of claims, from personal injury and property damage to commercial matters. Clients consistently turn to Brian for his experience and expertise in civil litigation matters.

Clients find Brian to be a reasonable, patient, courteous, clear headed lawyer who works closely with them to responsibly and fairly address issues and seek to resolve them expeditiously and effectively in the best interests of the client – an accomplished litigator who provides exceptional service to his clients. Brian has regularly attended at all levels of court in Ontario and has a strong record of success in all areas of civil litigation including motor vehicle claims, product liability, occupiers liability, Municipal liability, environmental contamination, property claims and commercial disputes.

Brian has received his LL.M in Civil Litigation and Dispute Resolution. This combination of education and experience allows Brian to produce results in the alternative dispute resolution setting and to better assist clients in pursuing a successful, expeditious and effective resolution of their case. During the summers following his first and second years of law school, Brian worked for the Ontario Attorney General, Crown Law Office, Criminal both assisting at and conducting trials. Following his third year at law school and prior to commencing his articles, he worked as a research assistant at the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law. Brian continued to develop his skills in civil litigation during his articles with Lerner & Associates in London, Ontario and, immediately following his Call to the Bar in February 1982 he joined Bell Temple to pursue a career as a civil litigator, continuing his practice as a Partner in the firm, Managing Partner, and now in Association with the firm.
Brian completed his B.A at the University of Western Ontario in 1977. He was awarded his LL.B from the University of Windsor, Ontario in 1980 and completed his postgraduate work and being awarded his LL.M in Civil Litigation and Dispute Resolution from Osgoode Hall Law School, York University in 2013.
